The hardest thing about writing eulogies, I’ve discovered, is the time frame.  Usually there is a very short turnaround between the time you’re asked to help, and the time the eulogy must be completed.  It’s not easy to write a eulogy for a friend anyway, and the time frame doesn’t help.  Sometimes it’s helpful to rely on a basic format or outline to get your thoughts going and overcome any writer’s block you might be having.  I’ve had to just jot down something standard and general, and then refer to it in order to personalize it for my friend.  It’s difficult, but not impossible by any means.
