Back in high school, dating was an exciting and scary new adventure. You’d meet someone in class, or through a mutual friend, you talked, maybe he walked you home. Then he asked her out, next came the anticipation, planning, finding the right clothes, makeup, hair, etc. The boy would dress, perhaps in his Sunday best, and get his car washed… inside and out. And with nervous anticipation, go to the girls house to pick her up, and then came the scary part…. meeting the girls father!
If you met with dad’s approval, your date began. A drive-in movie or local dance, followed by a soda at the local hangout where your friends gave their approval.
Moving up to modern times, dating can be an intimidating prospect. You go online, searching local chat rooms for someone with common interests. From that point on you just hope you don’t end up in an encounter with the local axe murderer!
