The State should come up with plans to educate its citizens on unemployment benefits and how it works to reduce long cues and queries of the same. This will also help the jobless people to know what is required of them to get the benefits and whether they qualify for unemployment or not. Many people frequent the Local Unemployment Department and ask, “Why Is My Unemployment Still Pending?” In most cases it all depends on the work load in the department and the cases are mostly tied up on investigation. Before a citizen starts receiving unemployment he/she has to be thoroughly investigated and a history of his previous employment done before he can be approved for the benefits. “The cases that take a shorter time are those which do not involve a former employer,” this was confirmed by an agent in the department.
