When we really get down to life insurance basics, the truth is, not everyone needs life insurance. If you don’t have anyone depending on your income and/or wouldn’t leave someone financially strapped covering your estate should you die, you probably don’t need life insurance at all. However, it’s very different if you are married and your spouse would be unable to meet the bills without your income. Life insurance is also necessary if you have kids or family members depending upon your income. If you’re building your nest egg and aren’t wealthy yet, life insurance gives you the power protect your family as if you are by delivering them the money they need should you die. Learning life insurance basics before you buy is critical. It can literally mean the difference of hundreds of thousands of dollars over a lifetime when you factor in the potential of the different plans and options available.
