When I had my third son, I was only 24 years old. And I had just acquired 2 step sons. I had not been an ideal mother at first to my first two children, having had them when I was just fresh out of high school. And I was terrified of how I was going to manage yet another addition to my already bursting-from-the-seams family. The following Mother’s Day, my mom gave me a pendant. It simply said “Mom”. And it said it all. I had become the best mother I could be to 5 children, all ranging from 9 months all the way to 16 years old. I was taking on everything from diapers to attitude problems. And I did it well. My mothers jewelry reminds me when I am feeling like I don’t know what I am doing, that I all I got to do is trust my instinct. Afterall, I am MOM.
