Hostessing a sports themed baby shower is much like throwing a sport’s themed birthday party with a few exceptions. First, instead of games for the children, you need to do games that adult women will participate in. Once such game could be choosing the name of the father or mother-to-be’s favorite athlete and then ask the guests to come up with as many names as they can from that one athlete’s name within one minute. The person with the most names is the winner. The cake and punch are easy as is the decor. If you plan to do goody bags as a thank you for attending, one easy idea is a mini sports bottle filled with pink and blue M&M’s or perhaps a pastel or sports decorated cellophane bag with the same. Something extra to enhance the fun would be dressing up in sports attire and having a contest for the best costume.
