The Whitehouse signifies the American government. It is the current residence of the president and his family and a place where cabinet conferences and social congregations take place.
The American government is composed of various branches - executive, judicial and legislative department. Taking the description from the Whitehouse online page, “the power of the executive branch is vested in the President, who also acts as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces while the judicial branch hears cases that challenge or require interpretation of the legislation passed by Congress and signed by the President.” On the other hand, the legislative department of the federal government consists of the Congress, which is divided into two (2) chambers — the Senate and the House of Representatives.
