Some people believe that it is helpful to go on a detox cleansing diet every once in a while in order to help cleanse their body of toxins. There are a large variety of these diets. Some of them involve fasting or liquid diets, which are usually not the healthiest of diets, and should only be done for short periods of time. Other detox diets recommend a diet consisting mainly of fresh fruits, vegetables, beans, fish, and grains (except wheat) and seeds. They usually require you to eliminate any processed food, coffee, tea, dairy and meats from your diet for the length of the detox period.
