A Teen Gets Concerned About Her Dad’s Alcoholism Symptoms

Jane was fourteen years old and for someone who was so young, she already had some big issues in her life. In her health class last week, her teacher, Miss Donnelley, discussed a number of alcohol-related topics such as alcohol abuse, alcoholism, and binge drinking. When Miss Donnelley started to discuss some of the alcoholism symptoms that a person could identify, Jane started to get quite concerned about the drinking behavior of her Dad. The more Miss Donnelley explained about some of the more typical signs and symptoms of alcoholism, the more Jane was convinced that her Dad had a serious drinking problem. Not knowing what to do about this, Jane made an appointment to talk to the school nurse for advice. Some things in life are too painful for anyone, let alone a fourteen year old. Jane was living proof of this.
