Unfortunately, my parents did not teach me to manage my money well. As a teenager, my dad gave me free run with almost all of his credit cards. My mom did the same thing. I think it worked like a babysitter in a lot of ways. If they sent me shopping, then they knew where I was and what I was doing. I would try to show them what I got and they gave me very little response. As an adult, it was very easy to run my credit up so high that I was lost. I needed debt help, and it was not to my parents that I turned.
