My business partner and I have been going through an on-going argument regarding office supplies. I shop quite a bit online while he refuses to embrace modern technology.  As such, I feel that we can save money on our office supplies online, while claims that a trip to our local office supply store is a better deal.  I proposed the following contest to settle the discrepancy: We would create a predefined list of common office products that we need.  He would purchase the first round of supplies via our local office supply store and I would purchase the next round through an online office supply store. This way we would both be purchasing the exact same items and could do a true price comparison.

A month later, we had the results. Shopping online saved our business nearly $22.00.  That’s not a ton of money, but, since we shop for office supplies about once a month, that saves us $264.00 a year by shopping online for office supplies.
