It’s a real knock on effect. Gas prices spike and spike again. Car drivers rush to get rid of their gas guzzlers. Car manufacturers rush to make or import smaller or at least more efficient cars. With no end in sight for the upward pressure on oil prices, it seems high gas mileage cars are here to stay. The miles per gallon qualities of every new car have suddenly become important. Fancy add-ons will always be appreciated but motorists are now concentrating on saving money at the pump. Car web sites now list cars according to their price but have separate columns announcing the mpg results. Everybody’s doing it.
